Lowie + Incredibusy Mending Loom Workshop | Thurs 21st March

$97.00

Join us for an evening repair workshop at the Lowie shop, Herne Hill London, Thursday 21 March. In just two hours, you will learn to repair a hole in your clothes, using your own incredibusy salvaged speed loom (included in your ticket price). This is a handcrafted tool designed to simplify the process of darning and repairing small snags in fabric.

You will come away from this workshop with both a salvaged speed loom (worth £75*) and the knowledge of basic loom repair stitches, and the chance to give your favourite garments a longer, well loved life.

Lowie Shop - Thursday 21st March 2024 - 6:30-8:30pm

Your speed loom kit comprises:

  • organic cotton ‘task bag’ to keep your loom safe
  • metalwork loom with 12 hooks, using reclaimed stainless steel, and repurposed bicycle spokes provided by a Tooting bicycle project
  • hand-turned darning disc, made with beech offcuts, hand finished in Berkshire
  • rubber bands x 2
  • darning needles x 2
  • and a quantity of British mulesing-free wool, enough to repair your first hole
  • and you will receive access to a password-only PDF to refer to post-workshop

There are just ten places available for this intimate workshop, so book your place now…

Extend the life of a favourite sweater or your denim jeans. Great fun too if you fancy experimenting with the creative weaving process in miniature!

Hand made in the UK, these incredibusy salvaged speed looms are constructed using carefully recycled components.

Tickets can be refunded up until 7th March 2024.
