At Lowie we love to support local designer makers and have just had a delivery from the very talented Lilly Maetzig, the maker behind Mae Ceramics.

 Lilly first experimented with ceramics in 2011 whilst at art school in New Zealand, where she learnt how to slip cast and make sculptural work. She now works from a Tulse Hill studio in the art of wheel thrown ceramics, making high tension handles and playing with form and function. Her work is mostly minimalist, with sharp lines and subtle colours, exploring the contrast between the texture of raw and glazed clay, letting the natural qualities show through on the surface of a finished piece. 

We loved her hand painted stoneware clay mugs and lemon squeezers we just had to get them in store.
